Welcome to the UK's National Attendance Portal 〰️

The National Attendance Portal has been created in response to one of the greatest challenges facing education today ensuring every child feels seen, supported, safe and able to attend.

Attendance is no longer simply about percentages, letters and procedures. It sits at the intersection of safeguarding, SEND, mental health, belonging, family engagement, leadership and social change. Schools are increasingly carrying the weight of complex societal issues whilst striving to keep children connected to learning and opportunity. Attendance Magazine chronicled their narratives and the portal takes us to new heights.

This portal aims to become a national space for ideas, evidence, innovation and professional dialogue. A place where leaders, practitioners, researchers, governors and families can come together to share solutions, celebrate effective practice and challenge thinking around attendance and inclusion.

Why The National Attendance Portal Matters

Attendance is no longer a fringe issue in education. It is one of the defining challenges facing schools, trusts, families and communities across the United Kingdom and beyond. Behind every absence statistic is a child, a story, a family and often a complex set of barriers linked to wellbeing, belonging, mental health, SEND, poverty, anxiety, safeguarding and engagement with education itself.

A national hub for a national challenge

We connect research, practice and people to drive meaningful change.

Strong attendance begins with something deeper than systems and data; it begins with belonging.”

“Strong attendance begins with something deeper than systems and data; it begins with belonging.”

One idea.

One belief that attendance is about far more than percentages.
